Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on a variety of building types. This role requires physical endurance, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of roofing techniques and safety procedures. Responsibilities
- Install new roofing systems using appropriate materials and techniques in accordance with project specifications.
- Repair and maintain existing roofs, identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to ensure accurate installation.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and efficiently.
- Utilise welding, fabrication, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and other construction skills as required for specialised roofing projects.
- Perform heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, tiles, metal sheets, and other roofing components.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Maintain a clean and organised work site throughout each project phase.
Skills
- Proven experience in roofing installation and repair.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical drawings.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques.
- Strong background in construction-related disciplines such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or general building work is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to working at heights and around construction sites.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
