A welcoming and ambitious primary school in Birmingham is seeking an experienced SENDCo to join its leadership team. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school
- Ensure high-quality support for pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Speech & Language Needs, SEMH, and Moderate Learning Difficulties
- Oversee the implementation, review, and monitoring of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Work closely with teachers to develop inclusive classroom practice and effective interventions
- Monitor pupil progress and evaluate the impact of SEND provision
- Liaise effectively with parents, carers, external agencies, and multi-disciplinary professionals
- Lead annual reviews and ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice
- Support staff development through coaching, guidance, and training
- Contribute strategically as part of the wider leadership team
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Previous experience working as a SENDCo or in a SEND leadership role
- Excellent knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and statutory requirements
- Experience supporting pupils with a wide range of SEND
- Strong understanding of EHCPs and multi-agency working
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and case management skills
- Ability to analyse data and use evidence to improve outcomes
- DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
