- Job Title: Counsellor / Keyworker (Female Only)
- Location: Bournemouth
- Contract: Permanent, Part-Time (22.5 hours per week, Wednesday to Friday) - Hours include one late shift per week, some bank holidays, and occasional out-of-hours on-call duties.
- Salary: £15,795 – £17,550 (£13.50 – £15.00 per hour), based on experience and qualifications

About the Role
StreetScene Addiction Recovery provides a safe, caring and structured environment for adults experiencing past or present problems with drugs and/or alcohol. We support individuals to rebuild their lives, develop independence and achieve long-term recovery.
We are seeking a dedicated part-time Counsellor/Keyworker to join our Bournemouth residential service, supporting individuals in recovery from drug and alcohol dependency.
The post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check, receipt of satisfactory professional references, and include a 3-month probationary period.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver care-planned counselling and 1:1 sessions
- Facilitate therapeutic and structured groups
- Provide relapse prevention support
- Present workshops and deliver 12-step facilitation
- Create and regularly review risk management and care plans
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date caseload records
- Liaise effectively with external agencies
- Deliver specific programme interventions
- Provide high-quality emotional support to individuals and groups
- Ensure the residential environment remains homely, clean, and safe
- Support access to primary healthcare and update care plans accordingly

- Deep empathy and compassion towards all service users
- Possess a foundational understanding of addiction issues or substance misuse disorders (beneficial but not essential)
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate will have, or be working towards:
- Counselling Skills Level 3/4 or a degree in Addictions Counselling
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal skills and good computer literacy
- A willingness to complete all mandatory and essential training
