Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest standards of vehicle care. We work Monday - Friday , daytime shifts only, multi drop ( typically 8 - 15 drops ) within a 90 mile radius of Newport
Responsibilities
- Operate lorries to transport goods safely and efficiently to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition.
- Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times while adhering to traffic regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required by company policies.
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding any delays or issues encountered during transport.
- Ensure the secure loading and unloading of cargo, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company professionally.
Requirements
- Valid UK driving licence with a clean driving record; LGV2 licence required.
- Familiarity with delivery driver responsibilities and logistics operations is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in driving.
- Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading cargo.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
