Vestey Foods UK is a fourth-generation family business that operates in the sourcing, development, production and distribution of food products. It provides a wide range of food products for foodservices, retailers, public institutions, wholesalers, and manufacturers in the UK and in Ireland.
Role Purpose
To safely and efficiently move products around the depot, ensuring goods are handled with care and stored in the correct locations. The role plays an important part in supporting the smooth running of warehouse and production operations by helping to maintain accurate stock movement, safe working practices and an organised working environment.
Monday - Friday 07:00 - 15:30
Main duties / responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a forklift truck.
- Process goods in and out.
- Store goods in the designated areas and maintain accurate records of their locations.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Assist in stock takes.
- Accurately pick and pack goods as required.
- Loading and unloading deliveries.
- Assist in stock taking and control.
- Follow all safety instructions and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on the forklift and report any issues or malfunctions.
- Carry out other duties as required.
Person specification
- Good attention to detail
- Sound knowledge of the safety requirements when operating machinery
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Good team working skills
- Licensed Bendi truck operator
- Experience gained working in a warehouse environment
