As a Warehouse Operative, you will play a key role in supporting the efficient operation of our Central Parts Warehouse, ensuring all goods are received, stored, controlled and distributed in line with Parts Operations Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
The team collectively processes approximately 2,500 picked lines per month, alongside handling around 3,000 inbound consignments and 3,500 outbound consignments. This role is essential in delivering an excellent service to both internal and external customers.
- Regularly monitor the picking note screen and release all available orders for picking.
- Accurately pick and pack parts for customers and engineers, ensuring correct identification and documentation.
- Receive and inspect incoming stock in accordance with company Goods In procedures.
- Ensure all warehouse activities, including loading and unloading vehicles, are carried out safely and in line with Health & Safety requirements.
- Cross-dock consignments and prepare them for onward shipment with accurate documentation and labelling.
- Locate and store stock within the warehouse, updating location details in M3 accordingly.
- Dispatch outgoing orders using the most appropriate courier service while maintaining Health & Safety standards.
- Process customer and engineer returns, using usage data to determine whether items should be restocked or returned to suppliers for credit.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding returned parts, raising all required credit and claim documentation within M3.
- Process warranty returns and accurately record information within the warranty database.
- Support stock checks and cycle-counting activities to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Ensure all parts are picked, packed and dispatched in line with Parts Department SLAs.
- Report delivery discrepancies on the day of occurrence and in accordance with the documented discrepancy reporting procedure.
- Complete stock checks and cycle counts accurately and in line with agreed schedules.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Previous experience using M3 or a similar warehouse management system.
- A proactive approach with the ability to use initiative and solve problems independently.
- Good standards of numeracy and literacy.
- Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck and HiLOP licences.
