Commercial Electrical Installer – Smoke Control Systems

NHB Smoke Control Ltd is a specialist contractor delivering smoke control systems across London and the South East. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Commercial Electrical Installer to join our team on a self-employed (CIS) basis.
This is a long-term opportunity for a reliable, motivated electrician who takes pride in producing high-quality work. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, is reliable, punctual and wants to build a long-term future with a growing specialist contractor. Attitude, professionalism and attention to detail are just as important to us as technical ability.
Working across commercial and residential construction projects, you will be responsible for installing, testing and fault finding smoke control systems, ensuring all work is completed safely, professionally and to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Install smoke control systems, control panels, AOV controls, dampers, actuators and associated field devices.
- Install containment including tray, basket, conduit and trunking.
- Install FP200, SWA and low-voltage control cabling.
- Carry out inspection, testing and fault finding of electrical installations.
- Complete electrical test documentation where required.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and other trades.
- Maintain a clean, safe and professional working environment.
- Represent NHB Smoke Control Ltd professionally on all sites.
Essential Requirements
- ECS Gold Card.
- City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 Inspection & Testing qualification (or equivalent).
- Proven commercial electrical installation experience.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to work independently and to a high standard.
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude.
Desirable
- Experience installing smoke control systems.
- Fire alarm or BMS experience.
- IPAF.
- PASMA.
Previous smoke control experience is advantageous but not essential, as full product training will be provided for the right candidate.
