Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Ceiling Fixer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining ceilings across various projects. Duties
- Install and fix ceilings using appropriate materials and techniques, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications.
- Prepare work areas by measuring, cutting, and fitting ceiling components accurately.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised fabrication equipment to complete installations efficiently.
- Assist with the repair and maintenance of existing ceilings, including patching and finishing surfaces.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans to ensure precise execution of work.
- Collaborate with other trades such as plumbing, electrical, masonry, or roofing teams to coordinate tasks effectively.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organising tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times during operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in ceiling installation or related construction trades such as roofing, plastering, carpentry, or masonry.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment utilised in ceiling works.
- Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans.
- Additional skills in plumbing, welding, electrical work or construction painting are advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions accurately and work independently or as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure high standards of quality.
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks including lifting heavy materials and working at heights if required.
- Relevant construction experience is preferred; formal qualifications in building trades are an advantage.
