Pay Smart Carpets is a growing, family-run flooring business with established operations across England and Scotland. We provide customers with quality carpets and flooring through affordable weekly payment options.
As part of our continued growth, we’re opening a new branch in South Wales and are looking for an experienced, motivated Field Sales Representative to join the team.
This is an opportunity to become part of the business from the launch of the new branch and help us establish Pay Smart Carpets across the region.
The Role
This is a field-based sales role attending pre-booked appointments in customers’ homes across South Wales, primarily covering the CF, NP and SA postcode areas.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Attending pre-booked, qualified customer appointments
- Understanding each customer’s requirements and budget
- Measuring rooms accurately
- Demonstrating our carpet and flooring samples
- Explaining the available payment options clearly and professionally
- Preparing quotations and closing sales
- Delivering an excellent customer experience throughout the appointment
- Maintaining accurate customer notes and appointment records
Full product, measuring and sales training will be provided, along with ongoing support from our experienced team.

What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is confident, driven and comfortable working independently. You’ll need to enjoy meeting customers, building rapport and working towards sales targets.
Previous experience in any of the following would be beneficial:
- Field or direct sales
- Flooring or home-improvement sales
- Furniture or retail sales
- Consumer finance
- Other customer-facing sales roles
Experience is valuable, but attitude, professionalism and a willingness to learn are just as important.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be personable, confident and professional
- Have strong communication and customer service skills
- Be motivated by targets and earning commission
- Be organised and capable of managing a busy appointment diary
- Be comfortable working in customers’ homes
- Hold a full, clean, UK driving licence
