The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective management of Electrical Production activities across multiple workstreams and teams. The role provides leadership and direction to Team Leaders, Electrical Testers and Electrical Fitters, ensuring production targets, quality standards, customer requirements, and project milestones are achieved.
The Electrical Production Supervisor is accountable for driving operational performance, resource utilisation, workforce capability, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Electrical Production department. This role acts as a key link between Production Management, Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Manufacturing teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects in line with Marshall Land Systems standards and customer expectations.
Your responsibilities in this role include:
Production Leadership & Supervision

Lead, manage and coordinate the day-to-day activities of Electrical Production teams

Provide direction and support to Team Leaders, ensuring effective allocation of labour, skills, and resources

Monitor production progress against schedules and take corrective action where required to maintain delivery commitments

Ensure production activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with business priorities
-
Resolve operational challenges and escalate significant risks or issues to the Electrical Production Manager

Promote a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture across all Electrical Production areas
Production Planning & Delivery

Support the development and execution of production schedules in line with project and business requirements

Coordinate labour allocation to maximise productivity and resource utilisation
-
Monitor build progress and performance metrics to ensure project milestones and customer delivery dates are achieved

Collaborate with Planning, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality and Project teams to minimise disruption to production activities

Identify and mitigate production risks that may impact cost, quality, or delivery performance
-
Drive adherence to production processes, standard work instructions, and manufacturing best practices
People Management & Development

Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to Team Leaders and production personnel

Conduct performance reviews and regular one-to-one meetings in line with company procedures

Support recruitment, onboarding, training and succession planning activities within the department
-
Identify skills gaps and implement development plans to improve team capability and flexibility
-
Manage attendance, disciplinary matters, and employee relations issues in accordance with company policies
-
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, engagement, and continuous learning
Technical & Operational Oversight

Provide technical guidance and support for complex electrical build, installation, testing and fault-finding activities

Ensure teams can effectively interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation

Support the resolution of production and quality issues through structured problem-solving techniques

Ensure compliance with Marshall Electrical Standardisation, engineering requirements and customer specifications

Liaise with Engineering and Quality teams to address design, manufacturability, and production concerns
Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
-
Ensure all electrical manufacturing, installation and testing activities comply with BS 7671, IPC-A-620 requirements, customer standards and internal procedures

Drive a right-first-time culture and reduce rework through effective quality controls and process discipline

Support internal and external audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively

Monitor quality performance metrics and lead investigations into recurring issues

Lead and support Lean Manufacturing, 5S and Continuous Improvement initiatives

Encourage the identification and implementation of process improvements to improve efficiency, safety and quality
Health, Safety & Environment

Champion a strong safety culture throughout Electrical Production

Ensure compliance with Marshall Health and Safety Management Systems, policies and procedures
-
Conduct regular workplace inspections and support risk assessments where required
-
Ensure personnel are appropriately trained, competent, and equipped to carry out their duties safely

Investigate accidents, near misses and safety concerns, implementing corrective actions as required

Promote and maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace organisation through 5S principles
Administration & Communication

Monitor and ensure accurate job bookings, labour reporting and production data within the IFS ERP system
-
Prepare and communicate production performance updates, including delivery, quality and resource metrics
-
Participate in daily, weekly and monthly operational review meetings
-
Communicate business priorities, production objectives and key project information to production teams
-
Maintain accurate records to support traceability, quality assurance and compliance requirements

Ensure mandatory training, certifications and departmental records remain current

NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

18th Edition BS 7671 qualification

City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection and Testing

IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Health & Safety qualification (desirable)

Formal leadership or supervisory qualification (desirable)

Strong understanding of electrical installation principles, testing processes, and manufacturing practices

Working knowledge of IPC-A-620 standards

Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and 5S methodologies

Competence using ERP systems (preferably IFS) and Microsoft Office applications

Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organisational skills

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

Significant experience within electrical production, manufacturing, installation, or testing environments

Proven supervisory or leadership experience managing production teams
-
Experience of production planning, resource allocation, and performance management

Experience within defence, aerospace, vehicle integration, modular infrastructure, or other complex manufacturing environments

Experience leading Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing projects

Demonstrated ability to lead by example in safety, quality, customer focus, and operational excellence

Experience driving continuous improvement and supporting a culture of operational excellence
-
Proven ability to maintain high standards of communication, organisation, decision-making, and accountability
