Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bank Care Assistant to provide flexible support for our small residential care home based in Aldwick, Bognor Regis. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine desire to assist others, demonstrating excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to care. As a Bank Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, person-centered care tailored to individual needs, ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity for all 16 mobile clients with varying mental health needs. This position offers the opportunity to work on a flexible basis, supporting our team during busy periods or staff shortages.
Hours/shifts may vary:
Day shift: 8am-7pm
Half day shift: 8am-2pm or 2pm -7pm
Awake night shift: 7pm- 8am
Sleep-in shift: 7-9pm work then sleep-in to 7am
Duties
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal care, activities in accordance with care plans.
- Support the delivery of personalized care that promotes independence and respects individual preferences.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with residents, their families, and team members to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently to uphold a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Document observations and care provided accurately using IT systems designed for care documentation.
- Support transportation needs by accompanying residents when required, ensuring safe and timely travel arrangements.
- Contribute positively to team efforts by being adaptable, reliable, and proactive in meeting the needs of each and every resident.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care setting is essential; with NVQ 2 OR above/equivalent.
- Good command of English language skills for effective communication with residents and colleagues.
- Basic IT literacy to complete documentation and access electronic care plans efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and communicate compassionately with diverse individuals.
- Ability to follow detailed care plans accurately while maintaining flexibility based on individual needs.
- A caring attitude combined with reliability, patience, and professionalism are essential qualities for success in this role.
