We are looking for a driven and experienced Building Services Manager (Electrical) to join our team in Peterborough, supporting the successful delivery of electrical projects from estimating and tendering through to completion.
This is a varied role combining project management, electrical expertise, estimating, commercial awareness and team leadership, working across a diverse portfolio of commercial, retail and industrial projects valued from £10,000 to £1,000,000.

What We're Looking For
We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds and experience. To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
Essential:
- NVQ City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent
- 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018 + A4:2026)
- City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations (2391-52 or equivalent)
- Proven experience in electrical project management, including commercial and industrial installations
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical installations, construction processes and building services
- Proven experience of estimating, tendering and preparing competitive project quotations
- Experience managing projects from tender through to completion, including cost control and financial reporting
- Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
- ECS Card
- Proven ability to lead, manage and develop office based and site personnel
- Strong commercial, organisational and coordination skills
- Excellent communication, customer service and relationship-building skills
- A proactive, positive, and solutions-focused approach aligned with our values of Building, Sharing, and Caring
- Confidence using IT systems including Microsoft Office and project management software
- Full UK driving licence (minimum 6 months post-test experience)

Job Description
What You'll Be Doing
Reporting to an Executive Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful estimating, management and delivery of electrical projects, working closely with clients, the Building Services team, Project Managers, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
You will help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, to programme, within budget and to the highest standard, while maintaining strong client relationships.
This is a key role within the team, contributing to strong communication, collaboration, and a culture built on Building, Sharing, and Caring throughout project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery and management of electrical projects from tender and estimating through to completion and final account.
- Prepare estimates, tenders, quotations and pricing documents, including reviewing drawings, specifications and contract requirements.
- Understand and interpret contract designs, construction drawings and technical information.
- Monitor project costs, profitability, forecasting, valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Attend client, design and site meetings and communicate effectively with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
- Prepare contract programmes, progress reports, contractor reports and cost/performance updates.
- Manage and coordinate electrical engineers, trade operatives, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Monitor programme, materials, labour and resources to ensure projects remain on track.
- Price, negotiate and agree variations and instructions with clients or their representatives.
- Ensure Health & Safety/CDM requirements are effectively managed and monitored throughout project delivery.
- Verify and authorise trade operatives’ timesheets and support effective resource management.
- Provide leadership, mentoring and professional development for engineers and other team members.
- Maintain strong client relationships and ensure exceptional levels of customer care.
- Support the development of new clients, suppliers and business opportunities.
- Identify and implement improvements to project delivery, systems and customer service.
- Use Princebuild’s bespoke systems and software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Project.
Undertake additional duties and responsibilities in line with the progression of the role and the needs of the business.

Working Hours
This is a Full-time position of 42 hours per week:
- Monday to Thursday: 07:45 – 17:15hrs
Friday: 07:45 – 16:45rs

Flexibility and travel (including occasional overnight stays) may be required depending on project needs.
