At Arm2Arm Support Services, we are growing and looking for caring, dedicated individuals to join our team as a Domiciliary Care Assistant. Whether you’re experienced or completely new to care, we provide fully paid training, to support you every step of the way.
Duties
- Supporting and assisting the needs of residents on a day-to-day basis
- Working alongside multi-disciplinary teams
- Promote and maintain a high standard of care
- Helping someone to get up in the morning, get into bed of an evening
- Undertaking personal care (dressing, bathing, washing etc.)
- Medication management
- Completing paperwork and maintaining records
- Offer emotional support and companionship to foster well-being
- Support clients with mobility, including assistance with walking or using aids
- Complete light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean, safe living environment
- Drive clients to appointments and run errands (Must have a driving license and car)
- Monitor and document any changes in health conditions and communicate them to the care team
Experience
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal - Essential
- Have a clear and thorough knowledge of the CQC standards - (Desirable)
- Having previous experience of working with the elderly – (Desirable)
- MUST have Full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle – (Essential)
- Living in the local area with the right to work in the UK
- Previous experience in healthcare or domiciliary care (preferred but not required)
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (Desirable)
- Strong communication skills for interaction with clients and their families – (Essential)
- Compassionate, patient, and understanding approach to care – (Essential)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team - (Desirable)
- Reliable and professional attitude with strong organisational skills (Desirable)
- Attention to detail for accurate health monitoring and care documentation – (Essential)
Salary & package for a Care Assistant:
· £12.82 - £14.00 per hour
· Staff will have comprehensive training in the care of clients with complex needs
· Paid training and development opportunities
· Mileage allowance (excludes travel from home to first client and from last client to home)
· Flexible shift times with alternate weekend shifts
