We’re looking for a highly motivated Key Account Manager to become the face of our business, ensuring our clients receive an outstanding experience while helping us grow through new business development.
The Role
As our Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of key clients, ensuring every account receives a first-class level of service from initial onboarding through to ongoing account management.
You’ll build strong, long-term relationships with clients, understand their objectives, identify opportunities to add value, and ensure the successful delivery of our services. Alongside managing existing accounts, you’ll play a key role in identifying and securing new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and helping to grow Businessin Wales.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in account management, recruitment consultancy, media sales, business development or client relationship management who enjoys building relationships and delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day activity of a portfolio of key client accounts.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
- Build trusted relationships with decision-makers and stakeholders.
- Ensure all client campaigns, projects and services are delivered efficiently and on time.
- Proactively identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell services.
- Generate new business opportunities through networking, referrals, outbound activity and relationship building.
- Develop strategic partnerships that enhance the Businessin Wales brand.
- Conduct regular client reviews and provide recommendations to maximise value.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of services.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and sales activity.
- Meet and exceed account retention, revenue and new business targets.
- Represent Businessin Wales at networking events, exhibitions and business meetings where appropriate.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is naturally relationship-focused, commercially aware and passionate about helping businesses succeed.
You’ll be confident communicating with business owners and senior decision-makers, organised in managing multiple client accounts, and driven to identify new opportunities for growth.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in account management, recruitment consultancy, media sales, business development or a similar client-facing role.
- Proven ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to identify and convert new business opportunities.
- Highly organised with excellent time management.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach.
- Experience using CRM systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience working within media, marketing, advertising or business support services.
- Established network within the Welsh business community.
- Knowledge of digital marketing or advertising solutions.
