About the role
- Carry out supervision of the yard staff to ensure compliance with all the relevant standards and procedures

Ensure the timely and correct preparation of all the deliveries and report to the Yard and Logistics Manager of any delivery plan deviations

Manage the Yard team to ensure daily duties are carried out effectively, including performing quality checks, reporting NCRs, following safe working procedures, correct bundling and loading, maintaining adequate resources and equipment etc.

Monitor the execution of the weekly delivery plans ensuring that all the material is loaded on time and in full with no shortages

Weekly reporting to the Yard and Logistics Manager on performance measures, e.g., On-Time-In-Full (the Yard and Logistics Manager will decide on the KPI scorecard and review practice).

Assist the Yard & Logistics Manager with team training
- Supervise and monitor check erection teams ensuring relevant paperwork is signed off

Schedule regular stock checks, ensure there is adequate stock of galv material at any time, i.e. shims, swivels, anti-climbs etc, and provide stock check reporting to the Yard and Logistics Manager

Supervise all activities related to the handling of incoming material to minimise handling and optimise flow through fabrication and welding processes

Propose and implement any lean methods and innovations to improve the Yard
- Work with the Yard and Logistics Manager on the integration of StruMIS
About You:
As well as being organised and motivated, we would like someone who:
- has knowledge of logistics, material handling, kitting and bundling and Bills of Material management

has great attention to detail and accuracy

has energy, enthusiasm, positive and a can-do attitude
-
has the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
-
preferably has structural steelwork experience
-
has continuous improvement knowledge for enhanced efficiency and quality of service
-
has been involved in process improvement, including KPI's and measures of success
-
has computer/IT and spreadsheet working skills
