Responsibilities
- Handle materials efficiently by loading, unloading, and moving stock within the warehouse using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and manual tools.
- Operate forklift trucks safely and confidently to load and unload shipments, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Manage shipping and receiving processes by accurately documenting inbound and outbound deliveries.
- Use warehouse management systems to track inventory levels, update stock records, and ensure data accuracy.
- Stock shelves systematically, ensuring products are organized for easy access and inventory control.
- Perform heavy lifting safely when handling bulky or heavy items, following proper lifting techniques.
- Support stock rotation procedures to prevent spoilage or obsolescence and ensure stock accuracy.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics environments with a focus on materials handling.
- Valid forklift certification with demonstrated ability to operate forklifts safely.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory tracking and order processing.
- Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures and documentation requirements.
- Ability to stock shelves systematically and organize products methodically.
- Mechanical knowledge to assist with basic equipment maintenance or troubleshooting when needed.
- Attention to detail for quality control checks on products and shipments.
- Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks combined with good stamina for long shifts in a busy warehouse setting.
Pay: £13.00 per hour
