Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Care Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care to individuals in either a care home or domiciliary (home care) setting. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to follow individual care plans, and a genuine commitment to improving the quality of life of those we support. The post involves working across Newport, Cwmbran, and Abergavenny, so flexibility and mobility are essential.
Responsibilities
- Support clients with daily living activities, including personal care, continence support, meal preparation, and medication assistance in line with care plans and company policy.
- Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with clients and their families through clear, respectful, and empathetic communication.
- Follow individualised care plans to ensure each client’s physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
- Safely transport clients to appointments, social activities, or community engagements when required, ensuring their comfort and wellbeing at all times.
- Maintain accurate and timely care records, reporting any changes in a client’s condition using electronic care management systems.
- Attend training sessions, supervision, and team meetings to continuously develop skills and maintain high standards of care.
- Encourage and support clients to remain active within their community and participate in meaningful social activities.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care home or domiciliary care setting is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle for work purposes.
- Ability and willingness to work across Newport, Cwmbran, and Abergavenny.
- Basic IT skills or willingness to learn electronic care record systems.
- A genuine passion for providing compassionate, high-quality care.
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
