Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home care environments. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Monitor and record changes in health or behaviour, reporting concerns promptly
- Provide specialised care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other cognitive impairments
- Support with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required
- Manage behaviour with patience and understanding, employing behaviour management techniques when necessary
- Respond promptly to emergency situations with appropriate first aid procedures
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient care practices, including dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and senior care
- Certification in first aid is preferred; willingness to undertake training if necessary
- Valid driving licence for transportation duties is advantageous
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required
- Compassionate attitude with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Flexibility to work shifts that may include evenings or weekends if needed
