Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Cleaner to join our team, responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across various premises. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who take pride in their work and enjoy creating a welcoming environment.
Duties
- To carry out cleaning duties as required including sweeping, dusting, wall washing, toilet cleaning, mopping and use of vacuum cleaners
- Use electrical and mechanical equipment, floor polishers, etc. when necessary and after appropriate training
- Ensure all cleaning tasks meet health and safety standards
- Maintain organised storage of cleaning supplies and equipment
- Follow scheduled cleaning routines to ensure consistent standards of cleanliness
- Use approved cleaning materials in accordance with manufacturers printed instructions and COSHH Regulations
- To be responsible for the care of all cleaning equipment and materials assigned to them
- Report to the Senior Premises Assistant / Maintenance Manager any defects seen, likely to affect security i.e. broken windows, window catches
- To be aware of their responsibilities for the Health & Safety of themselves and others
- Wear protective clothing and shoes which are suitable for the work being carried out
Skills
- Excellent communication skills for clear reporting and teamwork
- Attention to detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained consistently
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision whilst adhering to safety protocols
- Ability to follow and understand instructions and relevant procedures
- Good time management skills and the ability to manage own workload to complete tasks
This role is 3 hours per day, 3:15pm - 6:15pm, Monday to Friday, term time only. There is an additional 45 hours of deep cleaning across the school holidays.
