Glenarm Castle, one of Ireland’s most important historic estates and winner of UK Historic Houses’ Garden of the Year, is seeking an enthusiastic Gardener to join our dedicated team during peak time June – September with the potential of an apprenticeship role starting at the end of the season.
Summary
The role involves maintaining and developing our award-winning Walled Garden and Woodland Walk, including key visitor areas. It also offers the potential for a full-time apprenticeship for candidates eager to develop their horticultural skills. Based in Glenarm Castle Walled Garden, you will contribute to maintaining our beautiful historic grounds and enhancing visitors' experience.
Responsibilities
- Renovating borders and creating new garden areas
- Upkeep of wedding venue and visitor and retail areas
- General garden maintenance (plants, trees, vegetables, weeding)
- Landscaping and upkeep of estate pathways
- Care and maintenance of garden machinery and equipment
- Qualifications
- Minimum 1 years’ gardening experience
- GCSE Grade C or above in English & Maths
- Full driving licence
- Able to work outdoors in all weather
- Strong communication and teamwork skills

Pay: £24,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
