Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing high-quality dishes in line with restaurant standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow
- Oversee food production processes, maintaining consistency and presentation standards
- Manage food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Contribute to menu development by suggesting new dishes and improvements
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times
- Train junior team members in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safety procedures
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive food production and culinary experience, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and presentation techniques
- Demonstrable kitchen experience with knowledge of food safety standards
- Leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively under pressure
- Experience in restaurant service and serving is advantageous but not essential
- Familiarity with hospitality operations and customer service principles
