Location: Grangehurst Primary School Site, Anderton Road, Coventry
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Working Pattern: Term Time Only, 39 weeks per year
Qualification Required: Level 3 Childcare qualification or above

Golden Roots Preschool at Grangehurst is a private early years nursery and preschool based on the site of Grangehurst Primary School.
We are a passionate, nurturing and ambitious early years team dedicated to providing exceptional care and education. Our approach is child-led, relationship-focused and rooted in creating a safe, inspiring environment where children feel confident, valued and ready to learn.
We are looking for a caring and motivated Deputy Nursery Manager to support the leadership of our preschool as we grow.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a recognised Level 3 childcare qualification or above
- Has experience working within an early years setting
- Has strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted expectations
- Is confident supporting and leading a team
- Is passionate about child-led learning and high-quality early years practice
- Communicates well with children, families, staff and professionals
- Is reliable, organised and able to use initiative
- Can support the Nursery Manager with the smooth day-to-day running of the setting
Previous deputy manager, room leader or senior practitioner experience would be desirable.
Job Role Duties
The Deputy Nursery Manager will:
- Support the Nursery Manager with the daily running of the preschool
- Deputise for the Nursery Manager when required
- Support staff deployment, ratios, routines and daily organisation
- Lead by example and model excellent early years practice
- Support practitioners, students and apprentices with guidance and feedback
- Help deliver a high-quality, child-led EYFS curriculum
- Support children’s learning, development, wellbeing and transitions
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers and professionals
- Help ensure safeguarding, health and safety and setting policies are followed
- Support observations, planning, assessment and key person practice
- Assist with staff induction, meetings, supervision and performance support
