HGV Class 1 Driver – Newton Aycliffe
Store Deliveries | Permanent Role | Afternoon & Evening Starts
Rates of pay:
- £175 (Monday to Friday basic)
- £185 (Saturday basic)
- £195 (Sunday basic)
- £50 extra per shift available once trained on specific deliveries increasing rates to £225 to £245 per shift.
Romac Logistics is looking for experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join our busy operation in Newton Aycliffe.

Shift Information
- 4 on 4 off or 5 on 3 off
- Start times between 16:00–18:00 or 18:00–20:00
- Full-time, permanent opportunities
- Based in Newton Aycliffe
The Role
You'll be completing planned retail store deliveries, typically making 2–5 deliveries per shift.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Completing store deliveries safely and efficiently.
- Loading and unloading using an electric pump truck (PPT).
- Carrying out occasional handball when required.
- Delivering to customer sites professionally and on time.
- Completing vehicle checks and transport paperwork accurately.
- Working in accordance with Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and company procedures.
What We're Looking For
- Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) Licence
- Driver CPC qualification
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Good understanding of Driver Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
- Professional, reliable and safety-focused approach
- Previous store delivery experience is desirable but not essential
- Good communication skills and excellent timekeeping
