Home Care Assistant / Home Help (Part-Time Evenings) – Cobham (Hatchford/Ockham Lane)
We are looking for a kind, honest, reliable and trustworthy person to provide evening home support for an elderly lady with some health issues, who lives independently in a beautiful, safe home in Hatchford, Cobham.
This is primarily a home help role, supporting her to remain independent in her own home. We are looking for someone who can become part of a regular routine and who takes pride in being dependable.
Hours
- Approximately 1–2 hours each evening (around 5:00–6:30 pm)
- Ideally 7 days a week, but we are happy to hear from applicants who can commit to 3–5 regular days each week
- Immediate start available
Duties include:
- Preparing a simple hot evening meal
- Light household tasks such as tidying, washing up, laundry and light cleaning, watering the garden.
- Helping with small practical jobs around the house
- Providing friendly companionship
- Offering occasional assistance with mobility, such as helping her safely get up from a chair or making sure she is comfortable with a blanket or cushion
No personal care such as bathing or toileting is required, and no medical or nursing duties are involved.
What we're looking for:
- Honesty and reliability are essential. If you agree to work at a particular time, we need someone who can be relied upon to arrive punctually and consistently.
- Caring, dependable and friendly
- Patient and happy to support an older person with reduced mobility
- Own transport essential (the property is not easily accessible by public transport)
- Good spoken English
- Previous care experience is welcome but not essential.
This role would be ideal for someone looking to gain paid experience in healthcare before applying for medicine, nursing, paramedicine or another healthcare profession, as well as for experienced carers or anyone who enjoys supporting older people.
