Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Driver (Class 1) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, primarily utilising arctic wagon for various delivery requirements. Responsibilities
- Operate Class 1 HGV lorries, in compliance with all legal and safety regulations
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries to clients and depots
- Secure loads safely on refrigeration trailers, adhering to weight limits and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify any defects or maintenance needs
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company procedures
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen issues
- Follow all road safety regulations and company policies during driving operations
Requirements
- Valid HGV (Class 1) licence recognised in the UK
- Proven experience in commercial driving
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial drivers
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and professionalism on the road
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with securing loads
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively
- A clean driving record with no serious offences or infringements
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required by operational demands
