Children's Residential Support Worker
Location: Westerham, Kent

We are currently recruiting for a Children's Residential Support Worker to join a specialist school setting in Westerham, Kent, supporting children and young people with additional needs within a residential environment.

The Role
As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people within the residential setting. You will work closely with colleagues to ensure each young person receives consistent, person-centred support that meets their individual needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality care and support to children and young people
- Supporting young people with their daily routines and personal care where required
- Encouraging independence, confidence and the development of life skills
- Supporting recreational activities and residential programmes
- Building positive and trusting relationships with young people
- Working alongside education and care staff to provide consistent support
- Following individual care plans and safeguarding procedures
- Supporting children with additional physical, learning and/or communication needs
- Assisting with moving and handling where required
About You
We are looking for someone who is caring, patient, reliable and passionate about working with children and young people.
Previous experience within children's residential care, SEN, education, healthcare or social care would be highly beneficial. Candidates with transferable experience and the right attitude will also be considered.
Essential Requirements
- Enhanced Child and Adult DBS registered on the Update Service – mandatory
- A caring, patient and compassionate approach
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Desirable
- Moving and Handling Certificate
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Previous experience working within a residential, SEN, education, healthcare or social care setting
