- Monday & Thursday: 8:30am – 4:30pm
- Tuesday & Wednesday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
- Friday: 8:30am – 3:30pm

Zen Educate is looking for compassionate and enthusiastic Student Support Assistants to join one of our partner SEN schools in Wallsend.
This rewarding full-time role involves supporting either primary or secondary-aged learners with a range of additional needs, including neurological disorders and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school provides a nurturing, inclusive environment where every student is encouraged to achieve their full potential through personalised learning and dedicated support.
Whether you have previous experience in education, care, youth work, residential support, or another role supporting young people, we'd love to hear from you.
Your Responsibilities
- Support pupils with additional learning needs throughout the school day.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support where required.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
- Support students with emotional regulation and social development.
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for individuals who are:
- Passionate about supporting children and young people.
- Patient, resilient, and caring.
- Confident working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communicators with a positive attitude.
- Experienced in education, care, youth work, support work, or similar (desirable but not essential).
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or are willing to obtain one.
