Location:
Sharjah, UAE
Travel Requirements:
Applicants must be able to travel to the UAE and meet all deployment requirements, including:
- A valid passport
- Appropriate visa requirements
- Successful security clearance by the Sharjah authorities, if needed.
Specific school locations and deployment details will be communicated by Etio and SPEA through the inspection management system.
Overview of the Role
Etio is seeking experienced education professionals to join our UAE inspection team as School Inspectors (Reviewers) supporting the UAE Schools Inspections in Sharjah (SPEA).
As a School Inspector, you will evaluate the quality of education in schools across Sharjah, collect and analyse evidence, make secure professional judgements and contribute to high-quality inspection reports. Working as part of an experienced inspection team, you will help ensure inspections are fair, consistent, evidence-based and aligned to the UAE Inspection Framework.
Lead Inspectors will additionally provide leadership to inspection teams and oversee the quality and completion of inspection evidence and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection Delivery
- Conduct high-quality school inspections in line with the UAE Inspection Framework and Etio methodologies.
- Gather evidence through lesson observations, stakeholder meetings, work scrutiny and data analysis.
- Make secure, evidence-based judgements against inspection standards.
- Contribute to the delivery of fair, robust and professional inspection outcomes.
Leadership and Team Contribution
Lead Inspectors
- Lead inspection teams and coordinate inspection activities.
- Oversee inspection evidence, findings and reporting.
- Support consistency of judgements across the inspection team.
- Provide leadership throughout the inspection process.
Team Inspectors
- Contribute specialist expertise as part of the inspection team.
- Complete assigned evaluation areas and evidence forms.
- Support inspection discussions and reporting.
- Work collaboratively with Lead Inspectors and fellow team members.
Training and Professional Development
- Complete all mandatory training prior to deployment.
- Attend calibration, quality assurance and development sessions as required.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of inspection methodology and frameworks.
- Support mentoring and professional learning across the inspection workforce where appropriate.
Quality Assurance
- Adhere to all inspection quality standards and procedures.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, moderation and review processes.
- Ensure inspection evidence and reports meet required quality standards.
- Respond promptly to quality assurance feedback and requested amendments.
Reporting
- Produce accurate, evidence-based inspection documentation.
- Complete evidence forms and reports within agreed timescales.
- Ensure reports are compliant with SPEA and Etio quality requirements.
- Maintain clear, professional and objective written reporting.
Communication and Professional Conduct
- Maintain professional relationships with schools, colleagues and stakeholders.
- Respond promptly to communications from Etio and inspection leadership teams.
- Follow all Etio policies, procedures and codes of conduct.
Demonstrate cultural awareness and professionalism throughout deployment.

Lead Inspectors will additionally be accountable for the quality and timely completion of the final inspection report.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
Essential
- Significant senior leadership or education experience.
- Experience of conducting at least 15 school inspections within the UAE.
- Strong knowledge of the UAE Inspection Framework and evidence-based evaluation methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, report-writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a high-performing inspection team.
Desirable
- Experience supporting school improvement and capacity building.
- Strong digital skills, including experience using inspection management systems and reporting platforms.
Experience mentoring or supporting other inspectors
