We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant early childhood education team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote learning, development, and socialisation among children
- Supervise children at all times ensuring their safety and well-being
- Foster a warm, welcoming atmosphere that encourages curiosity and exploration
- Support children's emotional and behavioural development through positive reinforcement and guidance
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities in line with regulatory requirements
- Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues to ensure consistent care and support for each child's individual needs
- Assist in organising nursery routines such as mealtimes, nap times, and play sessions
- Uphold health and safety standards within the nursery environment, including hygiene protocols and risk assessments
- Contribute to the organisation of nursery events and activities to enhance children's learning experiences
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting
- Strong management and leadership abilities to oversee daily nursery operations effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and team members
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices
- Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude towards young children
- Organised with good time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Valid driving licence is desirable for roles involving travel between nursery sites or community visits
- A recognised qualification in childcare or early childhood education is preferred but not essential for all roles
