Technical Sales Support Coordinator

North East based with travel between Washington, Jarrow and Prudhoe
We are looking for a Technical Sales Support Coordinator to help manage customer enquiries, technical quotations, tenders and order progression across sales, engineering and operations within a live engineering environment.
This is not a general administration role. It is a technically involved commercial support position requiring someone who is comfortable working with technical information, speaking with engineers, supporting technically accurate quotations and helping move customer requirements through the business properly.
You will act as a key link between customers, engineering and operations, helping turn enquiries into clear, commercially viable and technically sound quotations and orders. The role would suit someone from an engineering, manufacturing, industrial, technical sales support, internal sales, estimating or quotations background who wants to build further responsibility across technical and commercial activity.
What you will be doing
· Managing customer enquiries from initial contact through to quotation, order and follow up
· Preparing and coordinating technical quotations and tender submissions with input from engineering and operations
· Supporting the preparation of technical and commercial documentation, including product information, proposals and customer facing materials
· Working closely with engineers and operational teams to ensure quotations and orders are technically accurate and commercially viable
· Following up on quotations, enquiries and project opportunities to maintain momentum and improve conversion
· Maintaining accurate records of quotations, orders, technical details and customer interactions
· Acting as a central point of coordination between sales, engineering and operations to ensure work progresses clearly and on time
· Identifying and escalating technical, commercial or delivery risks where needed
· Supporting reporting, data analysis and process improvement across commercial and operational activity
· Assisting with exhibitions, events and related technical or commercial support activity where required
What we are looking for
· Experience in a technical coordination, sales support, commercial support, internal sales, estimating, quotations or project support role
· Experience working in an engineering, manufacturing, industrial or other technical environment
· Confidence dealing with engineers, technical teams, customers and suppliers
· Experience supporting quotations, tenders, proposals or technically detailed customer enquiries
· Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle technical and commercial documentation accurately
· Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple live tasks and priorities
· Commercial awareness and the ability to balance customer needs, technical accuracy and business requirements
· IT competence including Outlook, Excel, Word and Teams
· A willingness to learn technical products, services and terminology
Desirable
· STEM based qualification or technical education
· Experience reading drawings, specifications or technical product information
· Experience supporting engineered products, services or technical projects
· Exposure to CRM or pipeline tracking systems
