We are part of the Express Engineering Group who employ more than 300 employees across the two companies, Express Engineering (Gateshead) and Express Engineering (Fabrications) (trading as QA Weld Tech).
We are seeking a skilled and experienced NDT Technician to join our dynamic team.
To be successful in this NDT Technician role at Express Engineering, you will:
- Have experience of NDT in-process and finished machined components, ensuring they comply with customer specifications
- Have a strong NDT background with a minimum of PCN level 2 qualifications in MPI, LPI and UT (3.1 / 3.2)
- Be experienced in producing technical NDT reports
- Understand the differences between Ferromagnetic & Non-Ferromagnetic Alloy materials
- Have strong mathematical skills and the ability to understand engineering drawings
- Be competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages include excel and word
- Have a can-do attitude and work well with others in a team environment
- Be flexible in your approach - willing to work overtime when required to suit customer requirements
- Be willing to increase your knowledge and undertake personal development
- Be willing to pass on your knowledge and train others
- Have experience of working within an Engineering production environment
- Knowledge of welding processes (e.g., clad overlay) and an understanding of Engineering Standards such as ASME / API would be an advantage but not essential
As with all positions, due to the nature and varying demands of our business, the responsibilities and tasks are not limited to this overview and may change to meet future demands.
You will be working a two-shift pattern including night shift which attracts an allowance of 29.25% of basic rate per hour. Overtime is paid at time and half.
