Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Residential Care Home Manager to oversee the daily operations of our care facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered to residents, fostering a supportive environment, and leading a team of care professionals. This role requires strong leadership, organisational skills, and a compassionate approach to senior and specialised care, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care. The manager will also ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and maintain excellent relationships with residents, families, and staff.
Duties
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the care home, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality service delivery.
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans tailored to individual resident needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care.
- Supervise and support care staff, providing leadership, training, and performance management to ensure a motivated team.
- Ensure medication administration is carried out accurately and in accordance with legal requirements.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and industry standards.
- Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate resident care effectively.
- Monitor the quality of care provided through audits and feedback mechanisms, implementing improvements where necessary.
- Manage staffing rotas, recruitment processes, and staff development initiatives to ensure sufficient coverage at all times.
- Promote a warm, welcoming environment that respects residents’ dignity and independence.
Experience
- Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home settings with a focus on senior care.
- Demonstrable knowledge of dementia care and Alzheimer’s support strategies.
- Experience in developing personalised care plans and managing medication administration.
- Strong management background with supervising experience within a care home or similar environment.
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster professional development.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation governing residential care homes and home care services.
- Previous experience in nursing or home care roles is highly desirable but not essential if complemented by management expertise in senior or dementia care settings.
