The Institute of Health Informatics (IHI) is a vibrant, collaborative environment at the heart of UCL’s world-leading Faculty of Population Health Sciences.

We’re looking for a Clinical Research Fellow to join our team and help shape the future of health informatics. We are seeking a ambitious, self-directed Clinical Research Fellow to join a multidisciplinary team of researchers (human genetics, health data science, epidemiology) delivering transformational insights into the aetiology and genetic basis of the cardiomyopathies and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.

This is a part-time post (18.25 hours/week), funded until 31 January 2028, with the possibility of extension.

You’ll have:
- Medical degree and specialist training in cardiovascular medicine, with a clinical interest in heart failure and cardiomyopathy
- Research training in relevant disciplines e.g. genetics of disease progression, multi-omics analysis, and epidemiology.
- Demonstrable expertise in controlled clinical terminologies (e.g. SNOMED, ICD-10) and working with health record data.
- Publications in relevant area of research and commensurate with career stage, and evidence of increasing research independence.
- Familiarity with genomic data formats (e.g., VCF, BED, BAM) and databases (e.g., 1000 Genomes, gnomAD, UK Biobank).
