Summary
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Part-Time Kitchen Porter to join our growing kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in hospitality, with the chance to gain hands-on experience in the kitchen alongside your porter duties.
The role is for approximately 15–20 hours per week, with the majority of shifts taking place during the daytime. As you gain confidence, you'll have opportunities to assist the chefs with basic food preparation and learn valuable kitchen skills in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Wash pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment to a high standard.
- Keep all kitchen and back-of-house areas clean, organised and hygienic.
- Assist with deliveries, stock rotation and storage.
- Dispose of waste and recycling safely and efficiently.
- Support the chefs with basic food preparation as required.
- Learn kitchen procedures and assist with simple cooking tasks as your experience develops.
- Ensure all cleaning schedules and food hygiene standards are followed.
- Help maintain a safe working environment for the whole team.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service.
- Take pride in keeping the kitchen running efficiently behind the scenes.
Qualifications
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods.
- Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- Understanding of food hygiene is an advantage.
- A genuine interest in learning more about professional kitchens and food preparation.
