LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT OFFICER - Social Care
Location: Remote with regular travel within the West Midlands
Salary Up to £35K DOE
Care Perspectives is looking for a motivated and organised Learning & Development Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Trainer or Learning and Development professional who is passionate about supporting staff development and improving outcomes for young people. Experience within Social Care is desirable.
You will play a key role in coordinating, delivering, and monitoring learning and development activities across our services. This includes delivering mandatory and specialist training, supporting inductions, maintaining training compliance, and contributing to leadership and career development pathways.
The role is hybrid, with regular travel across Care Perspectives services and training venues within the West Midlands.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver induction programmes and refresher training
- Deliver mandatory, specialist, and bespoke training sessions
- Support leadership and management development programmes
- Work with managers to identify learning and development needs
- Maintain accurate training records and compliance reporting
- Support staff with qualifications and career development pathways
- Ensure training provision remains inspection-ready and aligned with regulatory standards
- Use and maintain online learning platforms and training systems
- Liaise with external training providers and internal stakeholders
- Travel to sites and venues to provide training and support as required
About You
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about learning and development and able to engage confidently with staff at all levels.
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar Learning & Development or Trainer role, ideally within Children’s residential Services
- Willingness to work towards PRICE Instructor certification
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel regularly across the West Midlands
- Commitment to safeguarding and continuous professional development
Desirable Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
- First Aid at Work qualification
