As an Authorised Testing Facility (ATF), we operate to the absolute highest industry standards, ensuring our team works in a professional, well-maintained, and compliance-driven environment. We are currently looking for a skilled, forward-thinking HGV Technician to join our busy team.
The Role
As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical repair, routine maintenance, and inspection of commercial vehicles. This is a hands-on role in a modern, organised workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspections & MOTs: Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and MOT preparation to DVSA standards.
- Diagnostics: Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
- Repairs: Conduct efficient repairs on engines, gearboxes, brakes, and suspension systems.
- Administration: Complete all relevant paperwork and job cards accurately and in a timely manner.
- Standards: Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment in line with our ATF standards.
What We Are Looking For
We need a team player who takes pride in their workmanship and understands the importance of minimising vehicle downtime.
- Experience: Proven hands-on experience working on commercial vehicles (HGVs, trailers, or LGVs) is essential.
- Qualifications: An NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance OR a valid IRTEC certification is highly desirable (but extensive hands-on experience is highly valued).
- Skills: Strong diagnostic capabilities and a solid understanding of current transport legislation.
- Licence: A valid UK driving licence is required. An HGV licence (Class 1 or 2) is a welcomed bonus but not essential.
