Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and talented Pastry Chef to batch cook baked goods and desserts and assist with sending these for service. We are dedicated to providing simple but interesting and delicious food for a variety of catering jobs and so this is vibrant and varied role. Your expertise in food production, baking, and food safety will ensure the highest standards of quality and presentation. We already have a large back catalogue of tried and tested desserts but would love to welcome someone creative to the role to test new recipes, especially for specific dietary needs. Hours are very flexible and usually Mon-Fri!
Duties
- Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, cakes, tarts, cookies, and confections with attention to detail and consistency
- Develop new dessert recipes that align with current culinary trends and customer preferences
- Ensure all food preparation adheres to strict food safety and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food production schedules and maintain efficiency
- Monitor ingredient inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure seamless operations
- Decorate desserts creatively for presentation, ensuring visual appeal matches flavor excellence
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and storage areas in compliance with health regulations
Requirements
- Proven experience in food production, baking, or pastry arts within a professional kitchen or restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards
- Demonstrated culinary experience with a focus on desserts, pastries, or baked goods
- Ability to prepare food efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards under pressure
- Excellent skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen organization
- Prior experience working in a restaurant or hospitality environment is highly desirable
- Passion for innovation in pastry arts combined with a commitment to excellence
