Role: Deputy Manager
Location: Preston and Leyland
Earnings: Up to £41,500 per annum
Hours: average 39.2 per week
Shift pattern: 5 week rolling rota: 2 days on, 3 days off, including sleep ins. In the absence of the Registered Manager, you will be required to deputise and work standard office hours as needed.
Shift Times: 8am - 10pm followed by a sleep in
Sleep Ins: Approximately 12 sleep ins per month
Annual Leave: Increasing each year up to 5 years.
£55 paid per sleep-in carried out.

About the role
We are looking for a confident and compassionate leader to support the day to day running of the home and help maintain a positive, high quality care environment. In this role, you will inspire and guide a dedicated care team while ensuring young people feel safe, supported, and empowered to achieve their potential. You will lead by example, champion the voices of young people, and play an important part in maintaining high standards of care and compliance.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the development of two new specialist 2 bedded services across Preston and Leyland. The Leyland home will support young people with learning disabilities (LD), while the Preston home will support young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). You will have the chance to help shape nurturing, therapeutic environments from the very beginning, playing a key role in building strong team cultures and delivering high quality care that enables young people to thrive.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and inspiring a dedicated care team to deliver outstanding support to young people
- Acting as the go to role model, mentor, and source of support for staff, encouraging professional development and best practice
- Championing young people as a key worker, listening to them, safeguarding their wellbeing, and supporting them to reach their full potential
- Contributing to care planning, audits, and processes that ensure the home remains Ofsted compliant and high performing
- Creating a safe, structured, and nurturing home environment where young people can grow, develop, and succeed
- Deputising for the Registered Manager when required and supporting the smooth and effective running of the home

What we're looking for:
- NVQ Level 3/4 in Children & Young People (or equivalent)
- Experience in residential childcare, especially with emotional and behavioural needs
- Confidence supervising or leading a team
