We’re looking for a friendly, confident and reliable Front of House Assistant to join our team at The Agricultural Inn – or The Agi, as everyone knows us!
We’re an independent, family-run country pub and restaurant just outside Exeter, with a strong reputation for great food, local produce and genuinely warm hospitality.
This is a permanent, full-time position and would suit someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in giving great service and wants to become a valued part of a close-knit team.
The Role
You’ll be involved in all aspects of front of house, helping us make sure every guest receives a warm welcome and a great experience from the moment they arrive.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Welcoming and seating guests
- Taking food and drink orders
- Providing friendly, knowledgeable table service
- Serving drinks and working behind the bar
- Making coffees and other hot drinks
- Taking payments and using our till system
- Learning our food and drinks menus so you can confidently make recommendations
- Helping with restaurant set-up and close-down
- Clearing and resetting tables
- Keeping the bar, restaurant and customer areas clean and organised
- Working closely with the kitchen team during busy services
- Helping with private functions, events and special occasions
- Making sure our guests leave wanting to come back
Who We're Looking For
Previous hospitality experience would be an advantage, but attitude and personality are just as important to us.
