Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Operations Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of the upcoming Manchester 2027 World Taekwondo Grand Prix. This pivotal role involves overseeing all operational aspects of the event, ensuring seamless management of logistics, hospitality, and guest services. Responsibilities
- Lead the overall operational planning and execution of the event, ensuring all departments work cohesively to meet objectives.
- Manage venue logistics, including setup, breakdown, and on-site coordination to guarantee smooth operations throughout the event duration.
- Oversee hospitality arrangements for athletes, officials, VIPs, and guests, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and efficiency.
- Coordinate guest services teams to deliver outstanding customer experiences, managing registration, information desks, and attendee assistance.
- Supervise management staff and volunteers to ensure high standards of service delivery and operational safety.
- Collaborate with local authorities, vendors, and partners to secure necessary permits, services, and support for the event.
- Monitor budgets and resource allocation to optimize efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in event operations, event management or project delivery, ideally within sporting, major event or venue-based environments is essential.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with diverse groups including officials, sponsors, vendors, and attendees.
- Knowledge of guest services best practices within sporting or hospitality settings is highly desirable.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances while maintaining focus on delivering exceptional event experiences.
- Prior experience working on international sporting events or major tournaments is a plus.
- A proactive attitude with attention to detail and a commitment to operational excellence.
