Overview
An established engineering and manufacturing organisation is looking to appoint an Electrical Design Engineer to support the development of advanced equipment and systems. This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and components, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with relevant standards. The role involves close collaboration with engineering teams to deliver high-quality, integrated solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems including power distribution, control panels, and communication interfaces
- Produce detailed schematics and wiring diagrams using CAD software
- Support build, testing, and implementation of new systems
- Select appropriate components such as sensors, relays, power supplies, and control devices
- Work closely with mechanical and software teams to ensure seamless system integration
- Carry out testing, fault finding, and performance validation
- Ensure designs meet relevant safety and regulatory standards
- Produce and maintain technical documentation including drawings, BOMs, and specifications
- Support production and assembly teams with technical input when required
- Contribute to continuous improvement of existing designs and processes
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Around 5+ years’ experience in electrical design
- Proficiency in electrical design tools such as AutoCAD or similar
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, control panels, and motor control
- Experience with control systems and industrial communication protocols
- Knowledge of relevant standards and compliance requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines
- Good communication skills and ability to work within a team
Desirable
- Experience working on complex equipment or engineered systems

Pay: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
