The Integrated Passenger Transport Operations Team is responsible for the safe and efficient use of over one hundred vehicles to transport people in North Yorkshire.
The team comprises approximately 340 drivers and passenger assistants that operate at locations throughout North Yorkshire.
The team delivers approximately 250,000 passenger journeys per year including 20,000 wheelchair user journeys. The transport provided enables people to access schools, day centres, learning opportunities, supported employment and other meaningful activities in our community.
You will be responsible for the safety of passengers during these journeys and will ensure that the passengers board and alight safely as well as ensuring that any safety equipment is used correctly. Full training in the use of all safety equipment will be provided. You will need good communication skills as you will liaise daily with school and centre staff, Parents, carers, and colleagues.
Experience is not essential: however, some experience of driving minibus type vehicles or working in a similar role would be an advantage for this post. We are looking for a caring, flexible, and committed person to help transport clients that require additional support to get to and from a range of different venues.
This Driver post is based in Selby, and it is 12 hours per week (Saturday only).

D1 or D1 (101) entitlement on Driving licence is an essential requirement for this role. If you do not already hold this qualification, you are required to complete all necessary training and attain the qualification within 3 month(s) of your contract start date or your employment may be terminated with immediate effect thereafter without notice.
Successful Candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) background check. We offer a comprehensive training package including Minibus Driver Awareness Training Scheme (MIDAS), Basic First Aid and Managing Challenging Behaviour.
