About Borealis Hospitality
Borealis Hospitality provides property inspections, professional reporting and personal property care for private homes and luxury holiday properties. Our specialist housekeeping division, Estate Housekeeping, delivers the practical care that keeps these homes clean, organised and beautifully presented.
We are looking for reliable, conscientious self-employed housekeepers who take pride in their work, respect clients’ privacy and understand the care required when working in someone’s home.
About the role
Work may include regular housekeeping for private households, preparing homes for owners’ arrivals, luxury holiday-home changeovers and occasional deep or seasonal cleaning.
We welcome applications from people with experience in private homes, luxury accommodation or professional housekeeping. Applicants with less experience who demonstrate care, reliability and a willingness to learn will also be considered.
Please tell us whether you prefer regular domestic housekeeping, holiday-home changeovers or a combination of both, so we can assess your suitability for available work.
Your responsibilities
Depending on the property and agreed service, duties may include:
- Thorough cleaning of kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas.
- Dusting, vacuuming, mopping and careful cleaning of furniture, fittings and surfaces.
- Bed making, linen changes and thoughtful bedroom presentation.
- Keeping linen cupboards and housekeeping supplies tidy and organised.
- Laundry and ironing where included in the property’s requirements.
- Preparing homes for owners, guests or the next arrival.
- Deep cleaning and attention to areas that require more detailed care.
- Following property-specific instructions and handling delicate finishes appropriately.
- Noticing and reporting damage, maintenance concerns, missing items or low supplies.
- Completing a final check to ensure the agreed work and presentation standards have been met.
Attention to detail matters. We are looking for people who notice what needs care, communicate clearly and consistently finish their work to a high standard.
Essential requirements
Applicants must:
- Be self-employed, or prepared to have their self-employed arrangements in place before accepting work.
- Hold suitable public liability insurance covering the services they provide.
- Have a DBS check and be willing to provide evidence for review.
- Hold a valid driving licence and have their own reliable car to reach clients’ properties.
- Be able to issue invoices for completed work.
- Have a smartphone and be comfortable using our team app for scheduling and work-related communication.
- Be dependable, punctual and able to communicate clearly.
- Work confidently on their own and cooperate with others when required.
- Respect client confidentiality, property security and personal belongings.
- Be able to carry out the practical duties involved in housekeeping.
If your DBS check or insurance is not yet in place, please explain this in your application. Required documentation must be reviewed before work is allocated.
Hours and availability
We welcome applicants seeking work within school hours, including those returning to work.
Assignments depend on client bookings, property locations and your availability. Please state the days and hours you can offer, your preferred working area and how far you are willing to travel.
Some properties require attendance at specific times, particularly for arrivals and changeovers. Any weekend requirements will be discussed before an assignment is agreed.
This is an opportunity to undertake self-employed assignments as suitable work becomes available. A fixed number of weekly hours is not guaranteed.
Pay and self-employed arrangements
Rates range from £15 to £20 per hour, depending on relevant experience, demonstrated standards and the responsibilities involved. Your rate will be agreed before you accept work.
You will submit invoices for completed assignments and manage your own tax, National Insurance and business arrangements.
Application and onboarding
Please apply through Indeed with your CV or a clear summary of your relevant experience.
Include in cover letter:
- Your location and preferred working area.
