About the Group
We are a growing automotive group operating across multiple locations and brands, including Mobile Tyre Surgeons (MTS), G Force, Ash Road Service Centre, TJ’s and Beacon.
Our businesses provide a broad range of automotive services, including mobile tyre fitting, tyres, MOT testing, servicing, mechanical repairs, diagnostics and other vehicle-related services.
As the group continues to expand, we are looking for a commercially driven Marketing & Sales Manager who can help increase sales, develop new B2B relationships, strengthen our marketing presence and work closely with the Managing Director to identify new opportunities across the group.
The Role
This is not a purely office-based marketing position.
The successful candidate will be expected to spend significant time on the road, visiting our branches, meeting customers, approaching prospective B2B clients and understanding how each part of the business operates.
You will report directly to the Managing Director and will play an important role in developing and implementing the group’s sales and marketing strategy.
The position requires someone who is commercially minded, confident speaking to businesses, comfortable working independently and willing to get involved in different areas of the operation when required.
Key Responsibilities
B2B Sales & Business Development
A major focus of the role will be generating new commercial business for the group.
You will be expected to:
- Identify and approach new B2B customers.
- Develop relationships with fleet operators, logistics companies, taxi and private hire businesses, dealerships, bodyshops, vehicle rental companies, delivery businesses and other organisations operating vehicle fleets.
- Arrange meetings and visit prospective customers in person.
- Present the group’s services and develop suitable commercial packages.
- Generate leads through telephone, email, LinkedIn, networking and face-to-face visits.
- Follow up enquiries and convert opportunities into active accounts.
- Maintain relationships with existing commercial customers and identify opportunities to increase their spending across the group.
- Look for cross-selling opportunities between MTS, G Force, Ash Road, TJ’s and Beacon.
- Develop partnerships and referral relationships with other automotive businesses.
- Maintain an organised sales pipeline and provide regular updates to the Managing Director.
- Work towards agreed sales, revenue and customer-acquisition targets.
Field-Based Market Development
The successful candidate must be prepared to regularly travel and spend time outside the office.
This will include:
- Visiting our different branches and understanding how each location operates.
- Spending time with operational teams to understand our services, pricing and customer journey.
- Accompanying mobile operations where appropriate to better understand how MTS works in real-world situations.
- Visiting businesses and industrial estates to identify potential commercial customers.
- Understanding competitors operating around each branch.
- Identifying local opportunities for increasing MOT, servicing, tyre and repair bookings.
- Looking for new areas and markets where the group could expand its services.
- Reporting opportunities, customer feedback and competitor activity directly to the Managing Director.
We believe that understanding the business first-hand is essential to being able to market and sell it effectively.
Marketing & Social Media
The Marketing & Sales Manager will also help develop the group’s online presence.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the social media strategy across the different businesses.
- Helping plan content for platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn.
- Working with staff, content creators, photographers, videographers or external marketing agencies where required.
- Identifying interesting content opportunities across branches and mobile operations.
- Promoting offers, services, new locations and business developments.
- Supporting campaigns designed to generate enquiries and bookings.
- Helping maintain consistent branding and messaging across the group.
- Monitoring customer engagement and identifying opportunities to improve our digital presence.
- Supporting Google, social media and other digital marketing campaigns where required.
The candidate does not necessarily need to personally create every piece of content but must understand what content should be produced, why it is being produced and how it contributes to business growth.
Understanding the Business
The role requires someone willing to learn the wider operation rather than focusing solely on marketing.
You will be expected to develop a strong understanding of:
- Mobile tyre fitting and roadside operations
- Tyre sales and fitting
- MOT testing
- Vehicle servicing
- Mechanical repairs
- Diagnostics
- Customer service
- Workshop operations
- Fleet and commercial accounts
- Pricing and competitor activity
- Day-to-day branch operations
This knowledge will allow you to represent the businesses professionally when speaking with prospective customers and commercial partners.
Administration & Management Support
As this is a hands-on management role reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will also be expected to assist with administrative and organisational work where required.
This may include:
- Preparing sales reports and management updates.
- Maintaining customer and prospect databases.
- Preparing quotations and commercial proposals.
- Following up outstanding enquiries.
- Helping coordinate meetings and appointments.
- Preparing presentations and marketing material.
- Assisting with correspondence and general administration.
- Supporting the Managing Director with business-related projects.
- Helping coordinate activities between different branches.
- Assisting with new site launches, promotions or business initiatives.
The successful candidate must therefore be comfortable working across sales, marketing, administration and operations rather than viewing these as completely separate functions.
