Band 8a Specialist Pharmacist – Gastroenterology

Are you an experienced and forward-thinking pharmacist looking for your next leadership opportunity in a specialist clinical role? Frimley Health is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and highly skilled pharmacist to join our dynamic Gastroenterology team as a Band 8a Specialist Pharmacist .
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred pharmaceutical care within Gastroenterology, while providing expert clinical leadership across the Trust. Based at Frimley Park Hospital , this post also carries cross-site responsibilities , offering the chance to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and influence service delivery on a wider scale.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
A Postgraduate Clinical Diploma (or equivalent)
Independent Prescribing qualification
Significant post-registration clinical pharmacy experience
A commitment to continuing professional development and advancing practice within Gastroenterology
The ability to provide expert advice, lead service improvement, and support the development of pharmacy practice within the speciality
To develop the clinical pharmacy service to patients within the specialist area.
To provide clinical pharmacy services to patients within the specialist areas.
To act as a role model in the field of clinical pharmacy practice and provide a consistently high standard of clinical service in line with the pharmacy objectives.
To support the recruitment, management and development of staff under the postholder.
To work closely with the senior pharmacists, clinicians, nursing staff and other senior managers to develop pharmaceutical services to patients within the directorate.
To ensure close relations cross-site with the Gastroenterology team at Wexham Park Hospital.
To attend ward rounds / clinics when appropriate and able.
To work with the Surgical Lead Pharmacist in the provision and delivery of a TPN service.
Provide a clinical pharmacy service to specialised areas and a clinical pharmacy service to cover other areas when ward cover is needed.
