Our Westbury office is known for being friendly, professional, and supportive and the successful candidate will join an accounts team that values collaboration, learning, and making a difference.
ROLE SUMMARY
We’re creating a brand-new role within our UK accounts team to centralise a range of accounting duties focused on our USA and Canadian sectors. This is a great opportunity for someone with a basic understanding of tax and VAT.
Key Responsibilities:
- Keep track of US sales and use tax filing dates using our cloud-based finance system.
- Liaise with Avalara, Incorp, and regional US tax offices to ensure we meet Nexus registration requirements.
- Support external accountants with:
- US Federal and Franchise & Excise tax returns
- Canadian statutory tax returns
- Maintain compliant, up-to-date W9 forms for customers and suppliers in our finance system (NetSuite).
- Compile and review Canadian and UK quarterly VAT returns, ensuring related journal entries are completed on time.
- Complete simple balance sheet reconciliations accurately and on time.
- Reliably tackle ad hoc administrative tasks with care and attention to detail.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- A basic understanding of tax and VAT (UK, US, or Canadian exposure is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to compliance.
- Comfortable using finance systems like NetSuite and Avalara (don’t worry, we’ll train you).
- A team player who’s curious, collaborative and eager to learn.
- No need for deep accounting knowledge, just a solid foundation and willingness to learn.
