Trainee Fitter / Fitter’s Mate
42 hours per week | 4-day working week | Overtime available at time and a half
We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Fitter / Fitter’s Mate to join our growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in construction, installation and fabrication.
You’ll work alongside experienced fitters on a variety of projects, gaining valuable hands-on experience while learning the skills of the trade.
No previous experience in solid-surface installation is essential — full training will be provided.
The Role
Every day is different. You could be working with different clients, visiting different locations and tackling jobs of different sizes. You’ll be an important part of the team, assisting experienced fitters and developing your skills on the job.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting experienced fitters with installation, assembly and fitting work
- Using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Reading and following drawings, measurements and instructions
- Learning how to work with construction materials and solid surfaces
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment
- Following all company and site health & safety procedures
- Carrying out manual work, including lifting and moving materials
- Working as part of a team to complete projects to a high standard
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Keen to learn and develop practical skills
- Reliable, punctual, hardworking and enthusiastic
- Comfortable working as part of a team
- Able to follow instructions and pay close attention to detail
- Familiar with basic hand tools and power tools
- Interested in construction, fitting, fabrication or installation
- Physically capable of carrying out manual work and heavy lifting
- A good communicator with a positive attitude
- Over 26 (for insurance purposes) with a full uk driving licence
Experience in kitchen fitting, joinery, fabrication or solid-surface installation would be an advantage, but it is not essential. Training will be provided.
