We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations, and supporting business decision-making through accurate financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain financial records, statements, and reports.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Reconcile bank statements and company accounts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Process payroll and monitor financial transactions.
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for cost control and efficiency improvements.
- Maintain accurate documentation and accounting records.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of accounting or finance experience.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional accounting qualification or progress toward certification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
- Experience working in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Knowledge of payroll and VAT regulations.
