The role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde as a Band 6 Phlebotomy Nurse Co-ordinator, playing a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across Community Treatment and Care Centres. You will lead and co-ordinate phlebotomy services, working autonomously while supporting a skilled and dedicated team. Within NHSGGC, you will be part of one of the largest and most innovative NHS organisations, committed to excellence, improvement and person-centred care. The role offers the chance to shape service delivery, influence patient experience and support workforce development. You will work collaboratively across primary and secondary care, ensuring services are responsive, safe and effective. You will be working within Glasgow City Wide
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and co-ordinate the delivery of phlebotomy services across CTAC ensuring safe, effective and person-centred care

Manage and support staff including supervision, rota planning, recruitment and performance management

Oversee caseload management and prioritisation of patient care across clinic and domiciliary settings

Ensure compliance with clinical standards, policies, procedures and professional guidelines

Provide clinical leadership, mentorship and training to nursing and phlebotomy teams

Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders and partner organisations to optimise service delivery

Monitor quality, manage risk, and support audit and service improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Registered first level nurse with current NMC registration

Significant clinical experience with specialist knowledge in phlebotomy or community nursing practice

Experience in a supervisory or team leader role within the NHS environment

Demonstrable leadership, organisational and workload management skills

Proven ability to communicate effectively including negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution

Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and national care agendas with ability to apply them in practice

IT literacy and report writing skills with ability to work autonomously and support service development
