We install, maintain, service and repair a wide range of roller shutters,
security shutters, security gates, fire shutters and other security products.
APT security shutters are looking for a dynamic manager to join our growing business.
The Fleet, Stock and Engineer Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's vehicle fleet, inventory and warehouse operations, and field engineering workforce. The role ensures engineers have the required tools, materials, vehicles, and support to deliver high-quality services while maintaining compliance, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Management
- Manage the company's fleet of vehicles, ensuring maximum availability and operational efficiency.
- Schedule vehicle servicing, MOTs, repairs, and maintenance.
- Monitor fuel usage, vehicle tracking, and driver performance.
- Ensure compliance with road safety regulations, insurance, and licensing requirements.
- Manage fleet budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Investigate vehicle incidents and implement corrective actions.
Stock & Inventory Management
- Oversee warehouse and inventory operations.
- Maintain accurate stock records using inventory management systems.
- Ensure engineers have adequate stock levels for daily operations.
- Manage procurement, supplier relationships, and purchase orders.
- Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Minimise stock losses, obsolete inventory, and wastage.
- Ensure safe storage and handling of equipment and materials.
Engineer Management
- Supervise and support field engineers and technical staff.
- Plan and allocate daily work schedules and resources.
- Monitor engineer productivity, utilisation, and performance.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training requirements.
- Ensure engineers comply with company procedures and health & safety regulations.
- Resolve operational issues affecting field service delivery.
Operational Management
- Develop and improve operational processes and procedures.
- Produce management reports on fleet performance, stock levels, KPIs, and engineer productivity.
- Monitor operational budgets and control expenditure.
- Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, Finance, and Customer Service teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
- Carry out risk assessments relating to fleet, warehouse, and engineering operations.
- Promote a safe working culture across all operational activities.
Key Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience managing fleet operations, inventory, and engineering teams.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
- Experience using fleet management and inventory systems.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Desirable
- Experience within facilities management, utilities, telecommunications, or engineering services.
- Knowledge of ERP or stock management software.
- CPC Fleet Management qualification or equivalent.
- IOSH or NEBOSH Health & Safety qualification.
- Project management experience.

Qualifications
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Relevant management or operational qualifications are advantageous.
Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
